There doesn't seem to be a way to disable tutorial pop ups in the settings?.I get what they were going for, but they really should have just copied Dwarf Therapist or Rimworld. Designating jobs for dwarfs still sucks.Saves you needing to count.) I recall this being in classic DF, but it might have been a DFhack feature. (Example: When setting a 10x9 area to be mined, you'd get text on the screen telling you that your selection is 10x9 tiles. When designating an area, the game doesn't tell you how big it is.(Example: when building a floor that requires 10 sandstone, you'll have to click the sandstone button 10 times.) Heaps of things on the UI require you to click a button repeatedly. Worst offender is that various UI elements will render off screen with the default UI settings. (Edit: According to commenters, apparently this feature never existed? Maybe it was a DFhack thing.) You don't seem to be able to set a custom name for your fortress on the Embark screen. Lack of Polish / Missing Quality of Life / Bugs: No planning tools? Might have been a DFhack feature, though. No way to specify what ammunition hunters should use.(Edit: This was apparently a DFhack feature) No way to check if a trade depot is accessible by caravans.Again, maybe I'm just oblivious, but I recall it showing info about creatures and enemies on the map. The Units screen only tells you about your dwarfs.I get that it's probably not ready, but in the tutorial livestreams right before the game came out, Zach said that the ASCII mode was 'basically done'. Absolutely bonkers design choice otherwise. No logs? Unless I'm just really oblivious and can't find em.I've really been enjoying it, but I've found that the new version is severely lacking polish and certain QOL features. I played the game on and off for a couple years and only got back into it now with the Steam version. Just so you know, I'm not a Dwarf Fortress expert.
